Nanuq End

The end of the story, hope it was enjoyable. Props to Photoshop for not crashing on me with all the layers. I plan to do more with this character, so probably the next update will be the start of another story with him. Comments are always welcome:)

Nanuq page 5

Sorry this took so long to finish. Insane freelance plus not so insane birthday took up the last two weeks. I have one more page too add to this story. I knew how I wanted to present the last part of the story since the beginning, but never really thought ahead until I started this page. So hence the change in layout. The others will follow suit at some point soon.

Nanuq

What? My own stuff? This is a story that goes off another piece of art work I did last year. Nanuq (What the Eskimo's call a polar bear) is going to be about 15 images in total, so for now, here is a preview.

Example of the images I am now drawing and coloring for a book that teaches English overseas. I love the log.

No more pandas

No more, I promise.

This is your share...

This took me longer than it should have (4 hours). When I was done I realized panda's have black legs. That was fun to fix. All in all, I like the paper cut out feel to it.

Birthday card

Birthday card for a friend. First time I actually drew something and then colored it in awhile. Coloring other people's images for my freelance job takes away my motivation to do it myself. But I have to admit, I do miss it. My goal is to update once a week again. Hope I can actually do it. Not sure about the shading or highlights on the elephant.

Bed Time

Four 5 minute sketches for a page of a children's book about a boy who doesn't want to go to bed because he had so much fun today. Just a freelance job I'm trying for. (and got:)

Asking for Directions

I've been so lazy... this is one of the first times I used to Blur Tool to shade (and basically do everything else) It's ok for my first time. I started, and gave up on about 5 different back ground ideas until I went cheap and just made clouds! You love the clouds!

Show me where you've been Professor!

Another quite evening at the Layton residence.
I've had artist block, and for me, that turns into fan art. So I decided to draw up these fine gentlemen:)
"Layton's apprentice saves the day!"

girls, girls, girls!

Look at all the girls! Each sketch I gave myself about 5 minutes. I just needed to practice more on the female figure. Next time, males!

Stimpy says...

Yeah, I tried it. Sketch Book Pro has some good features, but I missed somethings. Ren and Stimpy started my drawing habit way back in 1991 when it started. I remember I loved to draw stimpy as a kid. But that is the only time I remember drawing them. This random thought popped into my head today as I was drawing an elephant in Sketch book, so I scrapped it decided to draw them again from memory. I may have failed as I haven't seen the show in years! (sadly) This was all drawn in about 10 minutes, 11 if you add the color.

Baboon trainer

Please excuse the cheap background! I'm just proud I did it! Baboons don't mess around.

Character sheet- 'Monster'

Not sure I like this, but meh. It's done. For an animation I did awhile ago.

Jackolope

This little guy was a character I came up with for one of my 3D animations (back when I did them) The storyboard can be seen in this blog (in 2007 I believe) Even though it's been a year and a half since I used him, I thought it was time to bring him back, with it being Easter and all. Jackolopes need love too!
Maybe one day Ill go and fix the line thickness on that one at the bottom. meh.

Schal page one

Finally! I've been working on this little by little between work and playing Professor Layton. This was originally a Storyboard I did back at Christmas and then finally decided to transform it into a comic for fun. It's annoying erasing arrows and directions. 1 out of 5 done!

Professor Layton does it again

I feel bad for Luke, the boy is constantly challenged by Professor Layton. No down time for the boy.

But seriously, this game is really fun. If you like feeling like an idiot most of the time (but in a fun way), then get it. Video games that make you wonder if you really did actually graduate college are a good thing. Wonderful graphics and character designs too.

Work and this game have stolen my time.

Breaking Through

A random idea that came into my head the other day which lead to this. Rainbow's taste like sugar, so she's enjoying this.

Fly Away

A character design I came up with not too long ago. More with him later.

The Next Step

Coloring snow at night is a pain to make it look decent, but all in all, I enjoy this piece. This is a drawing I've been wanted to color for awhile now. The coat is supposed to be a traditional Eskimo fur coat, so if you where wondering what I was thinking when I colored it, it was that:)

Inspired by Miyazaki

I couldn't stop thinking about Totoro when drawing this. Not sure I really like this style of shading, but it works for now.
